Guaranteed work

New Ontario nursing graduates are 100 per cent guaranteed temporary bridging work through the Nursing Graduate Guarantee. This unique program ensures new grads gain lengthy “above staffing complement” work experience, and sets them up with important employer connections that ultimately help them find permanent employment (as jobs become available).

The program is offered through the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and new grads are paid sector-appropriate wages. Many opportunities are available in hospital, long-term care, home care, mental health, public health and primary care settings. These positions last up to seven and a half months.

In order to participate, new graduates must register on the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Portal an online employment portal that links new nurses with employers through an online application and matching process.
